The Port Moody Ecological Society (PMES) is a broadly-based, community supported, federally [Canada] registered, charitable non-profit society, incorporated under the British Columbia Societies Act, February 11, 1991.

PMES volunteers operate a salmon and trout hatchery, a water quality lab and public awareness/ community outreach programs, using salmon and trout life-cycle ecology as an instructional vehicle.

The hatchery, newly created off-channel fish habitat, lab, 'polish' marsh (duck pond) and outdoor classrooms are located at the mouth of the Noons Creek watershed in Port Moody, British Columbia.

Noons Creek flows 11 kilometers (7 miles) from its headwaters at Cypress Lake (el. 830 m [2,700 ft]) in Eagle Mountain Provincial Park, through the Cities of Coquitlam and Port Moody into Port Moody Arm of Burrard Inlet (Pacific Ocean).

Noons Creek is one of 31 streams flowing into Port Moody Arm of Burrard Inlet.

The PMES web site is Permanently & Proudly Under Continuous Construction - Without Apology, Since 'We' Are All Volunteers.
