The festival had invited the No Inhibitions Jazz Band and was advertising the band's participation. The festival then discovered that it had lost its annual grant from the BC government making it necessary to reduce the budget for the 2010 DixieFest. No Inhibitions has been replaced by two excellent local bands. We apologize to No Inhibitions' many fans, but as Cole Porter wrote, it was "Just One of Those Things". We look forward to No Inhibitions' return to Vancouver as soon as possible.

All venues with large dance floors, all under one roof, all venues non smoking, lots of parking on site, Thursday evening Kickoff Party with the Phoenix Jazzers, special sets, youth bands, Saturday dance lessons, parasol parades, Sunday morning gospel sets open to the public, superb Canadian hospitality in a beautiful setting.

Come to the Vancouver DixieFest with JAZZ-N-AWEIGH's 2010 2-Fest Northwest Tour

"Here we go again for the EIGHTH year in a row to these two great festivals via Amtrak & Rocky Mountaineer Rail. The 'only way to go'..... This is a most fantastic trip. We start on Amtrak going from Seattle to Vancouver BC -- a beautiful run, mostly along the waters of Puget Sound. Our bus meets us at depot for a drive to Surrey BC only 45 minutes. We stay at the beautiful host hotel, the Sheraton Guildford, where the music is performed all under one roof! On Monday, our bus will give us a city tour of cosmopolitan Vancouver before we check in at Granville Island Hotel & that evening enjoy a delightful dinner at the Culinary Institute, where the food is prepared & served by future chefs! On Tues, our morning starts early as we head for boarding of the Rocky Mountaineer Rail. We will 'ride the rails' here for two days, but stay in hotel in Kamloops, as the train only travels during the daylight hours so you can take in all the spectacular views. They offer two classes of service - in both you are pampered by their highly trained stewards -- & you will be overfed in both and the viewing is truly spectacular. This year we take the northern route from Kamloops & detrain in Jasper for overnite. Our bus (Oct 7 & 8) gives us an area tour, a stop for lunch in beautiful Lake Louise area & head south for one overnite. Our lunch stop in Trego MT will become an indelible memory......such fun. Our stay in Kalispell is again at the festival host hotel, Red Lion. There are two venues here & the lobby is attached to a large shopping mall. The other two venues are just a block away. On Sunday Oct 10, we will have a group farewell dinner in Whitefish before boarding the Amtrak there for the return back to Seattle, arriving morning of Oct. 11."
