Alexander "Skip" Spence recorded the
first true solo album of the psychedelic era in late 1968.
"OAR"
featured Skip's bass, drums and guitar as well as vocals. This album has
become somewhat of a cult favorite.
"OAR" was reissued on CD in June
of
1999. A tribute CD to Skip and "OAR" was also released at the same
time, entitled "MORE OAR", and featuring long-time Spence fans like
Robert Plant and Beck.
