Prof. John Price
John Price teaches Japanese history at the University of Victoria, in Victoria,
British Columbia, Canada. He is the author of Japan Works:Power and Paradox in
Postwar Industrial Relations published by Cornell University Press in
1997. He sits on the advisory board of
the Centre of Transnational Labour Studies, based in Tokyo, and is an editor of
the Bulletin of Concerned Asian Scholars.
He was one of the organizers of the People's Summit on APEC, the
parallel meeting to the APEC leaders meeting in Vancouver in 1997 and
participated in the writing of an NGO policy brief to the federal government,
"Canada and APEC: Perspectives from Civil Society"(July 1997). He is a founding member of the Canada Asia
Pacific Resource Network, an NGO dedicated to research and solidarity for sustainable
development in the Asia Pacific. He is
currently doing research on Canada and the Cold War in Asia.
