Dear Premier Campbell,

Your New Era Document envisions 'the most open, accountable and democratic government in Canada.'

However, your government is choosing to:

Cut the budget of the Auditor General by 15%

Cut the budget of the Information and Privacy Commissioner by 35%

Cut the budget of the Ombudsman by 35%

Cut the budget of the Police Complaint Commissioner by 30%

Cut the budget of Elections BC by 35%

Reduce the independence of the Child Advocate and

Close the office of the Mental Health Advocate.

In the New Era Document, you also ask to be held to account. This, we will do. Your minimum responsibility is to protect the integrity of the independent officers, and to fund them properly. Stop the hypocrisy, Mr. Premier. Deliver on your promises.
