“In my art, I explore the memories and identities connected to fibres and clothing. What do faded blue jeans, fluffy flannelette pyjamas, a scratchy wool sweater, or a black business suit make you think of? I examine how objects and people hold memories and how these perceptions and recollections manifest within art itself. By combining indigenous Red Alder dye and the surface design technique Shibori, I create unique fabrics with local characteristics.”
