Friends
In September we had launched the idea of publishing a stamp with a
Zarathushti motif, through the Canadian Postal Agency. We had invited
interested members to submit artwork or photographs by November 15th.
Though not overwhelming, we did receive some very interesting artworks
and I would like to acknowledge the three runners -up
Sheeraz Yazdi Wania from Dubai submitted an original modernistic
artwork on acrylic entitled Kushti. The artist states that "my design
portrays and infers to the way I feel about my religion and what being a
Zarathushti means to me. It is the Knot (of the Kushti) which ties us
together as one community, as one people" The concept is simple yet
has a depth and an aura which the artist would like us to feel and
experience.
Thank you Sheeraz
The other two pictures were submitted by Manouchehr Iranpour and his son
Arya Zartosht.
Patte (Suzandouzi), designed and made by a Zarathushti. It depicts the
glory, the simplicity and the variety of life.

Thank you Manouchehr and Arya Zartosht.
The original of the designs can be sent to you by Aban Rustomji, if you
wish as they are rather large files. (they are appeared in this page, thanks to Aban - O'Shihan)
Our choice is the 4000 year old Sarv tree, symbolic of the strength,
vibrancy and rich foliage of the Zarathushti religion. As the tree has
stood firm through the vagrancies of TIME so also has our religion.
We will now submit the photo of the Sarv tree to the Canada Post and let
our Canadian members know when it is ready and available for purchase.
Thank you to all for your participation and patience,
Dolly Dastoor
