Project Managers: Getting Things Done
Jim Tucker, PMP
Abstract
Today's project manager has an overwhelming number of things to do in a
constantly changing workplace. It is still possible to work productively with
a clear head and with a healthy sense of relaxed control.
In Project Managers: Getting Things Done, Jim Tucker presents the core ideas
behind the Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology pioneered by David Allen. Jim
then applies this methodology to the challenges of the professional project
manager, showing how to adopt it as a project management style producing high
performance results.
Instead of feeling buried, get on top of it all. Starting with small,
practical changes to the way you organize the things that command your
attention, you can gain better control of your projects and your world and be
ready to respond to change
Biographical Outline
Jim Tucker, PMP is an independent project manager with twenty years of IT
experience in health care, manufacturing, banking and forestry. In his spare
time, Jim enjoys making music and family time with his lovely wife and their
teen-aged daughter and son, each of whom is growing up far too quickly.

A Generative Approach to Making Projects "Stick"
Christopher Dennis, MBA, CEC, PMP
Abstract
Use your energy identifying and growing strengths to minimize or make the
perceived weaknesses irrelevant. Involve people and let them take care of the
process.
Give people a framework to be creative.
Champion their creativity; set a big, hairy, audacious goal aka BHAG (Jim
Collins and Gerry Porras) and get out of their way.
Celebrate their efforts and keep asking what else can I do to get obstacles
out of your way - then do it; do it publicly and boldly!
Biographical Outline
Christopher Dennis, PMP rebels against command and control and champions the
power and benefits of teamwork. More specifically, he believes in letting the
'inmates run the asylum' as they use their strengths to make the issues
irrelevant.
Aggravated by the low change sustainability produced by projects, Chris
qualified as an Executive Coach and reinvented himself as an executive
consultant with a coaching approach to work with executives in changing the
organizational context.
By changing the context, behavior changes, different decisions become possible
which broadens the range of actions and improves possible result outcomes.
