Vlad Cohen.
Our agenda for the day will include these presentations and workshop
sessions:
-
MIND THE GAP - AVOID THE DIGITAL ABYSS Ellyn Daly, BHE, PMP
- A Records Management project can bring fundamental change to every part of
an organization. It can deliver immense benefits; but has an incredibly huge
opportunity to fail right out of the gate. This presentation considers the
essential
components which must be in place to allow a transformational project a fighting
chance of achieving success and delivering on time and on budget.
-
ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
IGNORE AT YOUR PERIL - Victoria Lemieux, PhD, MAS, CISSP - A
review of empirical research carried out at UBC that identifies risk factors
related to organizational culture and human behaviour that can jeopardize the
success of Records and Information Management (RIM) systems implementation
projects. It includes a demonstration of a web-based Risk Assessment Tool
designed to assist individuals and teams involved in RIMS implementation
projects
to assess their perceived level of exposure to these risk factors.
-
TOOLS IN THE TRENCHES PROJECT MANAGERS AND CHANGE
MANAGEMENT - Laura Stoicescu, MSc, PMP and Madeleine Butschler,
J.D., M.C.E A brief review of a Change Management (CM) framework and
why CM is essential for a successful Records Management project, followed
by a workshop. Participants will identify change management activities and tools
suited to different phases of the project lifecycle.
-
THE FIVE THINGS A PM MUST KNOW (OR GET SOMEONE TO DO)
` TO IMPLEMENT AN EDRMS SYSTEM Marcel Roy, and Judy Hu, MAS -
Drawing on concepts introduced in presentations and workshops earlier in the
day,
in this workshop participants will apply their experience to explore five key
elements of an EDRMS implementation.
-
SET NEW PROJECT RECORDS! Regis Denefle, PMP Building on
experience at one of the world's largest software publishers, this presentation
addresses complex, transformational projects such as implementing a new
Project Management approach and toolset. Using a certain vision of Project
Management, the goal is to share practices and tools that can enable
organizations and PMs to pick the right projects, execute consistently, organize
and retain project information for the long run, and learn more from past
experience.

Seminar participants can claim seven PDUs for the day. In addition to the time
they spend as
participants, Presenters and Workshop Leaders can claim a PDU for each hour
spent
performing those roles, including preparation time
This is a full-day seminar. If you register it is understood that you plan
to attend for the entire day. If you leave early it is a discourtesy to your
fellow professionals. Another PMP from the wait-list has been denied the
opportunity to attend, and the presenters at the end of the day are
slighted.
