VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Objective: To provide general reception and assist the Co-ordinator of Volunteers with routine administrative tasks
Training/Support to be provided by: Co-ordinator of Volunteers
Duties:
Essential Qualifications:
- Greet the general public, answer routine questions and refer to other personnel or sources of help
- Assist with maintaining volunteer records and schedule
- Help produce online and print materials
- Maintain front office area
Time Commitment Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- Proficiency in database management and MS Office
- Basic internet experience, including ability to use email
- Excellent organizational and clerical skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Knowledge of VCN and non-profit organizations
- Additional languages an asset
- Ability to meet the time commitment outlined below
Location: VCN office, 411 Dunsmuir Street and online following period of orientation
- 4 hours per week for at least 4 months
- additional time to attend orientation, training and meetings and read online information
