Promoting Branch Meetings
Posting to National Website 'Branch Events'
Instructions
Media Notification
Our branch has put together a list of community newspapers that carry free 'event listings'. It is most important to meet the publishing deadlines and format each publication requires. Our number of attendees has increased dramatically since we began getting regular publicity for our events in the local papers.
Our information is sent to the media via e-mail and also through a fax service which charges us $10.00, and also distributes to numerous non-profit organizations. We also enter our information onto several local websites which have free ' local event calendars'.

Member Visitor Contact
At our general meetings, we ask everyone to sign in. Those who leave e-mail addresses are added to our meeting notice listserve. Those who leave only telephone numbers receive a call asking if they would like to get telephone notice of future meeting topics. Some of our long-term members are happy to help out by doing this phoning.

Posters and Handouts
We distribute pamphlets for our discussion groups in the libraries. For a $25 membership, our Mississauga Main Library distributes our pamphlets to the 14 other libraries.

A notice of meeting appears on our branch website whose address we advertise in all our printed materials. This notice can also be printed and distributed to acquaintances or posted by Board members. The same information is used as the basis for our e-mail, telephone and media communications.
