Back in the late 70's when I first entered the Internet, there wasn't much to it. Mainly military, universities, government and corporations. Builiten Board Services were the main places to chat to others and Dmoz was the only attempt at indexing Url's so that you could search for websites. It was a text only unix driven place that was only navigated by true nerds.
The thought of a unified humanity came naturally as an observation throughout the evolution of the inter-networked digital communication. For the first time in history we can have an online community and vote for policy we all conscent to. Also evident was the presence of corruption in high places bent on usurping the possibilities. Mostly corporations, royalty and corrupt governments had an innate interest in halting any degredation of their archaic power structures.
Know that originally, computers were not to be shared with people, only military, scientists, government and corporations. Remembering this it is easy to understand who is trying to jack the Information Age and why. Information has, for a long time been kept secret, some in the name of national security. But really what it is all about is having power over the individual.
When you really think about this situation - you see how all the vast knowledge of humanity - all the riches of technology that has been developed for thousands of years - everything scientific that has raised humanity up from the apes - all the beauty of creativity and inspiration - is at risk of being stolen by a handful of disgusting filthy greedy people that want it all for themselves.
Aaron Swartz and many others have worked hard to keep the internet free and open for the betterment of humanity and some, like Aaron Swartz lost their lives fighting for it. Aaron was murdered by globalist operatives because they are so afraid of sharing power that the power structures are willing to commit murder.
The Information Age can be realized if people only understand what is at stake and fight the New World Order's private agenda designed to steal it away from all humanity.
Demand your government not to hand over control of the Internet to private interest, not to sign on to the private trade agreements like the TPP. Each new private trade deal comes with the clause to gain control over the free flow of information on the internet. We had the many attempts so far for corporations to gain control of the internet - first it was the recording industry trying to protect copyrite of artistic works they produced as middlement to talented artists. Then PIPA, then SOPA, ACTA, etc. The New World Order has realized that the free flowing information will destroy their plans of world domination. They want to control what you purchase by who you purchase from. Stop you from obtaining access from information and data. A lot of scientific works and others are already being hidden away from the people in databases like JSTOR and others. Information needs to be free for our civilization to be free.

Support them with your dollars but also realize that action on your part is what makes a change in political policy. The rich corporations have infiltrated the governments and have paid off corrupt officials but also can afford to lobby the government which gives them an exclusive voice. You must take back your voice and communicate with your government any way you can as well, vote with your dollars. Boycott all the big corporations that are pushing for the TPP.
This is a war - the Third World War - it is an information war. A war that will end in true freedom or alternatively true slavery.
