I'm happy to report that we have had even more responses so I am updating the site once again.

Cathy's Photo Pages

Cathy Hanson (ne Coughlin) has kindly ransacked her photo archives for us. That's Cathy - left - at the CHOO on air board circa 1980. The great photos on these two pages all date back to 1979-1981. Many thanks Cathy!

Hi John, Wow! What a great site! It sure brought back memories and it's so interesting to find out what my former colleagues are doing now!

I started at CHOO in the fall of 1978 and left in the spring of 1981. You were asking about the change I made from announcer to news - what happened was I filled in for someone in the newsroom while they were on vacation and really liked the job. When an opening came up, I talked Gord Taschuk into hiring me and the rest is history!

I changed careers six years ago and now teach in the Creative Communications course at Red River College in Winnipeg. I love it! We have a great radio station, 92.9 KICK FM.

(RIGHT ) Sports Announcer Joe Pascucci. "His office is a little more impressive now. He's been the Sports Director at Global TV in Winnipeg for years and is a local celebrity."

(LEFT) PD and Afternoon Announcer Tom Edge in CHOO on air studio circa 1980. Cathy comments: "[Tom] had a passion for country music... he loved deciding what he'd play next.... this was back in the day when announcers could actually choose what they were going to play and when!"
