Yah Mon
A torturing torch singer's whiny wail drifts over her audience, falling on the plaid covered double-breasted man. Do their eyes really meet or is this un-requited love? This atmospheric vignette, derived from 1930-1940 hollywood movies and Vietnamese club music, highlights this chanteuse who is part Madame Butterfly, part Jessica Rabbit. Derived from a longer film work "Subkonscio Redukta Tricikla", one never knows what possibilities lay ahead for these smoke covered characters.

The process of doing obscure dramas often involves being able to digest a lot of imagery and aesthetic concepts. Working with non-verbal methods of conveying ideas is tricky and inaccurate but often more interesting than dialogue-type drama.
