hot springs

Well, I guess it is time for an update. A bit down in the dumps recently, although really I have nothing to complain about. Life is good. I have my health, I have a fulfilling (sort of) career and hobby. I have good friends here and at home - some coming to visit next month! What more could I want?

Been sad though, thinking about Tomas, Jennie, Steph and Seonaid leaving and my two missing backpacks. It is odd for these things to come up now, but I probably had too much thinking time on my hands recently.

Anyway, more interestingly perhaps, what have I been up to? Well, I have spent the longest consecutive period of time so far in San Jose - three and a half weeks. So, I suppose I have been doing city things, mostly. Dancing a lot, movies a lot (catching up on all the academy award nominees - saw Chocolate this weekend), practising guitar a lot, working a lot, sort of a normal life pattern has settled in.

My "family" here is still annoying at times and on Tuesday I was getting pretty choked up about it again, but we are mostly in a state of equilibrium now. It is tolerable, I just try not to spend too much time at home, as much as my budget allows...

This week was fun but a bit sad, as Jennie and Seonaid had their last day on Friday. Steph also finished recently. So we had some celebrations in the office on Thurs and Fri.

Saturday, I went to San Carlos - some hot springs are near there. It was fun. The first day, I got in for free (because I got there so late) and had to hop the fence to get out. The river there is beautiful and there are lots of spot to lie in the hot water and not many people around. I hiked around quite a bit and then rested in an isolated pool. Sunday was similar.

Hopefully I am ready for work tomorrow... Still no concrete news on my job future with YCI in Nicaragua, but it is looking good. Take care, talk to you soon,
Rob
