The Skills Connection is a not-for-profit
community partnership between Lord Strathcona Elementary School and the
Strathcona Community Center in the Downtown Eastside and Strathcona
communities of Vancouver.

Employment Counsellor and Program Co-Ordinator - Extensive
experience in employment counselling and providing services to persons with
multiple challenges such as poverty, alcohol & drug issues, single
parenting, etc.
Haedy Mason
Client Support Centre Co-Ordinator - Long-term community advocate
for poverty and parenting issues, many years experience in various areas of
adult education
Jael Emberley
Skills Access Outreach Team (SOAT) Co-Ordinator -
Single parent, peer support
volunteer and training co-ordinator, with many years experience in Strathcona. Committed to furthering the enjoyment
of computers and combining fun with work.
We are also very lucky to have a small but
dedicated volunteer force. Currently, Jean, Monica, Courtney,
Nancy, Sonya, Teresa, Bertha and Paul are generously giving of their time,
energy and expertise in various areas such as peer support, computers,
reception, administration and research.
