Promoting Your Event

Hundreds or thousands of students and teachers at your educational institute will likely agree with you on issues of concern. You just need to decide what issues to target and how to target them.

Once you decide the issues your group will target, you can get help from the student union and like-minded clubs and societies at raising awareness. Registering with the student union will give you access to funding, tabling locations and much more. Members of like-minded clubs and societies may co-operate in organizing an event. Meet them, talk to them, learn about their organizations and invite them to participate in your group’s activities. Maybe you’ll want to hand out pamphlets, put up posters, and make announcements in classes to spread the word.

You may also choose to raise awareness through university newspapers. Newspaper editors want good articulate content so will be delighted to invite students to write articles on specific issues. If you are passionate about a topic, write an article! Campus radio stations also present another opportunity.
