Ed did graduate work in Theatre and Media in the United States, and some professional acting for stage and screen shortly afterwards. He's published six collections of poetry and written stage as well as screen plays. He founded the Montreal Experimental Theatre in 1985 and then moved to Vancouver the following year. He developed a Theatre Programme for the Langley School District in 1987 and later taught Acting at the VCC Langara and Downtown campuses. His one-act play, The Caged Dream, was produced at the Vancouver Fringe in 1993 by the Vancouver Experimental Theatre, and the following year, directed Elmer Wiens' Critical Paths. His historical drama Rizal (1997) was published by The International Readers' Theatre, and later translated to Italian by Vasco Caini in 2004. International Jazz Festival
Born and raised in England, John earned a diploma in mechanical engineering while serving an apprenticeship with an engineering firm. In 1969, he immigrated to South Africa, initially residing in Johannesburg. Moving to Durban, he found freelance employment on mining projects as a technical translator and specification writer. After three years there, he decided to try his luck in Canada. Offered a job as a machinery designer, he learned to write assembly instructions and training manuals and has been involved in numerous engineering projects in Canada, Southeast Asia, and the US, bettering his skills in business and technical writing. John has also taught at Harbin University of Science and Technology in China. He works in Vancouver as a freelance engineer. recent reviews

Born in Montreal, raised in Edmonton, having studied in Toronto and New York City, Kim Alison holds a Master’s degree in Journalism, and an honours B.A. in Communications & Spanish. A trilingual arts enthusiast, she has worked as a freelance writer for years and continues taking ballet classes – a discipline she began at the age of four. Erin was born in Ontario and moved to North Vancouver at a young age with her sister and parents. Excelling in reading and writing, you could usually find her off in a corner somewhere with a book. Erin went on to graduate from UBC with an Arts degree, and spends her time playing keyboards for a couple of local bands including Cinderpop and The Neins Circa. She has lived and worked in England and in London, Ontario, where she studied Classics and English at the University of Western Ontario. Susan has the distinction of being a true Vancouverite – born and raised. She holds a MSc in TESOL (Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and has spent most of the past eight years teaching/coordinating for Capilano College in Mainland China. She is currently teaching in both the ESL and the Communications Departments at Capilano College in North Vancouver. She continued to work for the festival for ten years. When her five children were grown up, Jane "retired" to Vancouver, where she earned both a BA and MA in English from UBC. Ross studied Film and Politics at the University of British Columbia and earned an MA at McGill University. He has worked as a journalist and foreign correspondent in India, interviewing several international figures (Mikhail Gorbachev, Astronomer David Levy, and Soviet astronaut, Georgi Grechkov). He wrote and directed a TV documentary about Streetchildren and AIDS in Bombay, broadcast in several countries. His most recent TV documentary was filmed in Thailand in 2001. David on graduating from UBC in 1987 with a BA in French moved to Montreal, gaining a BMus from L'Université de Montréal and playing cello in L'Orchestre Baroque de Montréal from 1992 to 1994. On returning to Vancouver, he began teaching music theory, preparing students for Royal Conservatory of Music exams. At that time he also began choral singing, joining a variety of groups, including the Vancouver Cantata Singers, the Vancouver Bach Choir, and the Vancouver Thunderbirds Barbershop Chorus. He currently sings with the Gallery Singers, occasionally plays his cello, and performs in amateur musicals and theatre productions. Christian's interest in theatre began in high school in Saskatoon, where he was active in stage productions as an actor and director. He was also very active in oratory, winning city and provincial awards. He moved to Vancouver in 1969, where he earned a B.A. and worked in an immigrant service organization. Christian taught English as an Additional Language for Douglas and Kwantlen Colleges before moving to the Arctic for a five-year stint as a community adult educator. After earning his M. Ed. degree, he taught in Vancouver public schools and was a partner in a successful Inuit art gallery.
