Sean Allan, General Manager
Sean brings a lifetime of experience in theatre, business and
marketing to Theatre Under The Stars. He is a native of Victoria, BC,
where he began his performing career. After he and his family moved to the
San Francisco Bay area, where he majored in Theatre and Journalism at San
Francisco State University, Sean appeared in a season of professional
summer stock theatre before moving to New York City.
While living in Manhattan, Sean was featured in 5
Broadway shows, Mame with Angela Landsbury, Coco with Katharine Hepburn,
Fade Out-Fade In with Carol Burnett, Half a Sixpence with Tommy Steele and
John Cleese, and Passion of Josef D. with Peter Falk. He also toured with
several Broadway shows and acted in summer stock all over North America.
When Sean moved to Los Angeles, he appeared in theatre, on television and
film. He also built a successful parallel career in advertising and
marketing.
Upon moving back to Canada as a founding partner in The
Beacon Group of Companies, Sean wrote and produced a Canadian feature film
called Cold Front, starring Martin Sheen, and developed projects with the
CBC and Telefilm Canada. He has also been featured in numerous film and
television acting roles while pursuing a successful advertising and
marketing consulting business here in Vancouver.
When Sean returned to the stage a few years back, he
was nominated for a Jessie Richardson Award for his role in the play,
Slaying Dragons. Recently he starred in the Applause Musical Theatre
production of the Broadway musical Nine at the Roundhouse Theatre.
Sean is currently a Vice President of the West
Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the West Vancouver
Harmony Arts Festival Board. He also has been made an Honorary
Kentucky Colonel, a Tennessee Colonel and by then Governor, Bill Clinton,
an Arkansas Traveler. |
