About Langara Accounts
VCN and the Langara Students Union are providing special access for Langara Students who take out a $25 membership with VCN.
Langara Students register for their VCN account at the Langara Student Union Office at the college.
Langara Students have:A few pointers when helping a Langara Student:
- enhanced access through their own dedicated 56K modem pool of 24 lines
- modem line phone #: 638-1365
- 12 hours per week online (instead of 8 hours for other VCN users)
- no session time limit (instead of 90 minutes for other VCN users)
- login id's that start with: 'a.' or 'l.' (that's small 'L', not 'one')
- e-mail addresses that look like: [email protected]
- automatic validation of their accounts within 1 day of registration
- special sign-up times in the LSU Office at the main campus (from 10:30-2:30 Monday to Friday except holidays)
- VCN's free Monday training sessions at VCN - getting connected, using e-mail and searching the world wide web (see http://www.vcn.bc.ca/training/)
- VCN's free technical support, provided by you, our valued volunteer, either online or over the telephone
- As always, do a User Search first to be sure their account is active.
- Note the differences above in the information to be entered when configuring their connection.
- If they can't remember their password, ask if they still have the card with all their vital information they were given when they signed up. If they don't have it - proceed with a Password Reset Request.
- When entering information about a problem in Request Tracker, please identify them as a Langara Student in the 'Subject' field and enter full address (as above) in the 'Requestor' field
